When you enjoy Morgan Creek wines, you’re savoring a piece of southern heritage. Under the guidance of Charles Brammer and his parents, Morgan Creek continues to expand in every aspect of the business; from the intricate details of wine growing to the distribution of their products.
Charles is proud to produce products that are truly native to the area. He strongly believes in the southern tradition of gathering around the table with friends and family. The Brammer family wines are originated from regional grapes and fruits that support southern farmers. The wines vary in finish from dry to sweet.
In their first year of wine-making, they produced 600 cases of wine. By 2007, the production was upward of 15,000 cases.
Charles is hands on with the entire process…from start to finish.
In addition to being hands on at Morgan Creek, Brammer is involved with the growth of the Alabama State Wine Trail and Department of Tourism.
Brammer holds a wealth of knowledge regarding the winemaking process, and stays on the cutting edge of what’s happening in the industry. Each year he attends the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, which holds a key focus on emerging trends and breakthroughs in grape growing, winemaking, marketing and business.
The winery is a popular tourist attraction with an estimated 25,000 visitors each year. It’s open Monday through Saturday for free tours and wine tastings. Visitors are shown first hand the southern way of winemaking.
Be sure to visit soon. You’ll more than likely see Charles in his favorite overalls.
